Elected Officials and Community Leaders Help Cut the Ribbon at LI Walk-In Care Grand Opening
Massapequa, New York…Elected officials and community leaders were among the special guests who helped cut the ribbon signaling the October 10, 2020 grand opening of LI Walk-In Care, an urgent care center located at 808A Hicksville Road in Massapequa. Under new ownership by Inderpal Chhabra, MD, a well-known and respected local physician, the Center offers a range of services including Covid-19 testing, diagnosis and treatment of urgent medical issues, flu shots and vaccines, as well as primary care for adults and children aged 18 months and above.
The Center’s board-certified staff has decades of experience in pediatrics, pediatric emergency medicine, emergency and primary care and internal medicine. It offers on-site radiology and an on-site laboratory to facilitate swift diagnosis of illness and injury. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. No appointments are necessary.
The care team is led by Dr. Chhabra, who is board-certified in internal medicine and also operates a private practice in New Hyde Park. Along with Dr. Chhabra, Tommy O’Brien, DO is also providing patient care, as is David Johnson, PA.
Elected officials attending the ribbon-cutting included Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, New York State Senator Kevin Thomas, New York State Assemblyman John K. Mikulin, Nassau County Legislator Rose Walker, Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor Joseph Saladino, and Hempstead Town Councilman Dennis Dunne. Dr. Chhabra and the Center’s staff were welcomed to the Massapequa community by Keith Wilson, President of the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce.
The grand opening celebration also included a health fair at which Center staff distributed flu vaccines, performed blood pressure and glucose screenings, and met members of the community.
